Say no to plastics. Most people simply don’t have enough knowledge to understand why plastic is harming the environment and how we can prevent the waste from spreading. Sagreen committed in engaging with the locals, to show how they can adopt a new lifestyle without harming themselves or the planet.

No one is perfect, and it’s almost impossible to stop consuming plastic overnight. Try re-using the plastic you buy to give it a long life-time, or at least a second life. You’ll find it amusing to create new uses for old packagings if you couldn’t avoid them in the first place! For instance at Sagreen, we re-use plastic caps and turn into daily-use objects!

Where is your plastic waste going once you put it in the bin? Well, it depends on how good you are at cleaning and separating your plastic waste before putting it in the right bin. Inform yourself and your relatives about recycling, and discover places around you that will help with your waste management (or get in touch with us)!

Sagreen commited on raising awareness about current behaviours & their consequences. You can take part in the cycle too! This way, many more members of the community can spread the wor(l)d and will find joy in a nature not flooded with plastic.

Sagreen educates local children to become ambassadors of the good behaviour. We provide them with accurate and simple information during the workshops where they can also discover a playful way to assimilate the information. Small tips that can make a big difference!

As long as plastic still exists, let’s make the most out of it! Because we believe in positiveness, we created The Workshop. A free space where our children can learn & give a second breath to a life-threatening global issue.

“In 100 years, 50% of all species could be gone”
“All commercial fisheries are predicted to collapse by 2048”
“Oceans account for 71% of the planet but less than 2% are protected”

“Plastic pollution can now be found on every beach in the world, from busy tourist beaches to uninhabited, tropical islands nowhere is safe.”

“Scientists have recently discovered microplastics embedded deep in the Arctic ice. In 1950, the world’s population of 2.5 billion produced 1.5 million tons of plastic; in 2016, a global population of more than 7 billion people produced over 320 million tons of plastic. This is set to double by 2034.”

“Every day approximately 8 million pieces of plastic pollution find their way into our oceans. There may now be around 5.25 trillion macro and microplastic pieces floating in the open ocean. Weighing up to 269,000 tonnes.”

“Plastics consistently make up 60 to 90% of all marine debris studied.”

“Recent studies have revealed marine plastic pollution in 100% of marine turtles, 59% of whales, 36% of seals and 40% of seabird species examined.”

“100,000 marine mammals and turtles and 1 million seabirds are killed by marine plastic pollution annually.”

Who are we?

Just a bunch of positive minds, who think it is still possible to make a difference. Talking about plastic pollution isn’t enough anymore: it is time to take action! This is why we decided to gather our skills to create, or better said: re-create from plastic waste! We give a second life to objects rejected from nature but originally from us: humans! We do hope it will help raising awareness and get as many people as possible to finally SAY NO TO PLASTIC.

What we do?

Sagreen is an organisation which, hopefully, no one will need one day. Until then, we committed to finding the best possible business models & ideas to support the people of Indonesia finding alternatives to plastics in an economical & sustainable way.

Refuse plastics when not 100% necessary

Reuse plastics to give it a longer life and use

Recycle your waste and consume recycled products

Give our children a chance for a better life thanks to education!

Making a difference
is so much easier
than you think!

If each citizen of this planet would picked up 1 piece of plastic per day, the earth would be cleaned in 1 week !!!

“We don’t need a handful of people doing zero waste perfectly.
We need millions of people doing it imperfectly.”

Share your knowledge with others!
With your friends, your family, your work mates or your community! No one has to be perfect and change their entire lifestyle overnight, but step by step, small efforts become daily routine.

We love it!
If you can’t reuse a plastic item, make sure that you refuse it straight away! You think sipping your drink with a straw is fancy? Check out metal or bamboo straws, they are the real deal!

We need your help!
Collect the plastic caps of your plastic bottles
and bring them to one of our collect stations around Bali. We collect all donations and reuse them in our workshops to give your used plastic a new life!

Sagreen’s workshop is a space dedicated to children’s education. Free workshops will be organised on a regular basis. During these workshops, they will learn why plastic harms them and the world they are growing in. They’ll also learn how they can be more responsible regarding recycling and the usage of waste in a playful / artistic way.

Topics will vary and we’re happy to hear your suggestions! Feel free to drop some of your ideas in the contact form below.

Thanks to the amazing work of preciousplastic, we were able to built a shredding machine for plastic as well as an injection machine. With those magic tools we can press new objects out of melted plastic particles! This is an amazing process and we are beyond excited to create nice, useful and convenient objects for the everyday life as well as art pieces.

We also committed on involving artists in the projects, who will help getting our message out and spread the word. No disclosure on how, it’s a surprise!
